The Patient Assistance Foundation is critical part of our practice's mission to serve our community in every way we can.


The Patient Assistance Foundation of Cancer Specialists of North Florida was established in 2004 with the help of physicians, staff and the community in order to provide short-term financial assistance to patients undergoing treatments for cancer or blood-related diseases in Northeast Florida. Ninety-nine percent of all funds received are distributed to patients and their families to assist with daily living costs.

Our Mission


The Patient Assistance Foundation of Cancer Specialists of North Florida offers short-term financial assistance to patients currently undergoing treatments for cancer or blood-related disease (or within the last six months).  The following are examples of day-to-day living expenses we may assist with:

  • Rent or mortgage payments;
  • Utility payments (water, sewer, electric);
  • Telephone payments (landline or mobile);
  • Transportation costs (car payments, car insurance or taxi fare);
  • And some retail pharmacy costs.

Below is a list of general qualifications.  Please download the complete application packet for more in-depth details.

In order to qualify, the patient must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older;
  • Be a current resident of Baker County (FL), Clay County (FL), Duval County (FL), Flagler County (FL), Nassau County (FL), Putnam County (FL), St. Johns County (FL), Camden County (GA), or Charlton County (GA);
  • Have received treatment from an Oncologist or Hematologist for cancer or malignant blood-related disease within the past six months (treatment is defined as receiving blood products, chemotherapy, radiation and/ or surgery);
  • Have monthly income at or below 200% of the national poverty level;
  • Have no more than $5,000 in liquid assets (liquid assets are defined as cash, checking or savings accounts, 401Ks, stocks, bonds, etc.), and no more than $15,000 in a 401K;
  • Disclose all property owned, business and rentals; this will be considered in making our final decision.
  • Disclose all assistance previously received; this will be considered in making our final decision.
Please note that our Foundation does not pay patient medical bills, co-payments or credit card bills of any kind.  No physician or staff member is eligible to receive any financial distributions from the foundation.

How You Can Help...

In appreciation of the care your loved one received from medical oncology physicians; you may wish to memorialize your loved one, while at the same time help another person who is struggling with cancer or blood-related disease. By donating to the Patient Assistance Foundation of Cancer Specialists of North Florida, you are helping a patient overcome the financial burdens that their diagnosis and treatment may cause. Your donation helps to provide short-term assistance for the basic necessities of life: to keep a roof over a patient's head, the electricity on, and the telephone working. Your tax-deductible contribution will directly enhance the life of a patient in Northeast Florida who is actively receiving treatment for cancer or a blood-related disease.

Thank you Southside Peterbrooke for putting together two fundraisers to benefit the Patient Assistance Foundation! Attendees could donate $5 or $10 to pick a prize from the prize jar. We'll have another fundraiser during the Holiday Season, so stay tuned for more details!

6th Annual Cocktails Event Raises over $18,000

Thank you so much to those who came out to support our Sixth Annual Cocktails for a Cause. 6th Annual Cocktails for a Cause

This year the fundraiser will be held at BlackFinn Ameripub on Thursday, May 12, 2016.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

Guests enjoy two complimentary drink tickets, unlimited appetizers, and raffle prizes.

Last year the event raised over $14,000!
